This first plenary session of the 2026-27 Network Working Groups features a conversation between renowned scholars Romana Huk (Professor of English, Notre Dame) and Ben Quash (just named Regius Professor of Theology, University of Cambridge). They will address the question ‘Why does literary scholarship need theology and why does theology need literary scholarship?’ These scholars have interacted with both disciplines extensively, and so bring a wealth of insight to the many ways that literature and theology interact and mutually illuminate each other.
Participation is open to all current CPI Scholars Network Working Group & Affiliate Members.
This project was made possible through the support of an award from the Stephen & Laurel Brown Foundation through the support of a grant from the John Templeton Foundation. The opinions expressed are those of the speakers and do not necessarily reflect the views of either the Stephen & Laurel Brown Foundation or the John Templeton Foundation.
